The Edit: What I’m Loving This Week

Updated: Apr 20

Welcome to the first edition of The Edit, your weekly deep dive into everything I’m obsessing over—from TV and music to beauty rituals and fashion inspirations. Think of this as your personal insider’s guide to all things luxe, femme, and undeniably bold. Let’s get into it.

TV & Film: The It Girl Victims Era

It’s been an elite week for reality TV, and I need to talk about it. Real Housewives of New York (RHONY) delivered an eye-opening season finale, and the first part of the reunion was nothing short of social dynamics in motion. Then there’s Real Housewives of Salt Lake City (RHOSLC)—the finale and first two reunion episodes have been the most entertaining housewife television in a decade.

There’s a common theme in both franchises right now that I like to call the “It Girl Victim”—a master manipulator who spins situations in their favor, twisting words and narratives effortlessly until the cracks show under group confrontation. Lisa Barlow in RHOSLC and Brynn Whitfield in RHONY are playing this role masterfully. Lisa, with her curated wealth aesthetics and refusal to acknowledge her privilege, and Brynn, with her sharp wit and ability to flirt her way out of accountability, are giving main character syndrome meets victim complex. It’s fascinating television, and I can’t look away.

Beauty: Luxe Rituals & Hydrated Skin

Lately, I’ve been in my skin + hair therapy era, and let me tell you—face and hair steaming have changed my life. There’s something so luxurious about adding steam to your routine; it softens the skin, opens the pores, and preps the hair for deep hydration. I’ve been following up my hair steaming with rich oils to lock in moisture, and speaking of oils, I need to put you onto Taraji P. Henson’s Body Oil. It’s the perfect blend of indulgence and nourishment, leaving my skin hydrated and radiant without feeling greasy. Taraji knew exactly what she was doing with this formula.

Music: James Blake’s The Colour in Anything

There are certain albums that shift your brain chemistry, and this week, I found myself revisiting James Blake’s The Colour in Anything and remembering how it rewired mine. The production is so uniquely layered, his vocals haunting yet deeply emotional, and the way he manipulates sound is pure artistry. If you’ve never given it a full listen, now is the time. Best enjoyed on a night drive, in candlelight, or during those introspective moments when you need a soundtrack that feels like something.

Books: Dark Hockey Romances & The Femininity Journey

Two very different genres, but both equally consuming my free time right now. I’ve been diving into dark hockey romances (because sometimes you just need an angsty, brooding, emotionally unavailable athlete to spice things up), and simultaneously, I’ve started reading books on femininity to jump-start my personal journey in that realm. Balancing softness with strength, embracing beauty as power, and refining my presence—it’s all part of the ongoing glow-up.

Fashion: 90s Runway & Oversized Lucite Bangles

The 1990s runway era has been on my mind heavy lately. Ultra-feminine, sexy silhouettes with effortless styling—think Gianni Versace, early Tom Ford for Gucci, and Galliano for Dior. It’s the kind of sensuality that doesn’t rely on being overly revealing but instead plays with form, fit, and confidence.

Accessory-wise, I’ve been obsessed with oversized lucite bangles. They give that perfect mix of futuristic minimalism meets vintage glam. Whether stacked or worn solo, they add just the right amount of statement to any outfit.

Final Thoughts

Each week, The Edit will be a space to share my latest obsessions, deep dives, and reflections on the cultural moments shaping my world. Whether it’s reality TV tea, a beauty product I swear by, or a book changing my perspective, consider this your invitation into the conversation.
